MATTHEW CHAPTER NINETEEN QUESTIONS
  1. Jesus now left Galilee. What area did He go to? Why do you think Jesus is heading in that direction?
  2. What did Jesus do in that area
  3. What question was posed to Jesus? By whom?
  4. What answer did Jesus give the Pharisees? What is God's ideal for marriage?
  5. What did the Pharisees say to Moses commanded? Was that true?
  6. With Christ's sobering answer what conclusion did the disciples come to concerning marriage? Why? 
  7. do people have to be married to feel whole? What doe Jesus have to say about those who decide to not marry?
  8. What should be our attitude towards those who are single, either because they chose that or because they never received a marriage proposal, or have become widowed or divorced? 
  9. Matthew 19:13-15. Why did the parents bring their children to Jesus? 
  10. What was the disciple's attitude towards the parents who brought the children? 
  11. What was Jesus' attitude toward the children?
  12. How do you view children? Are they a bother or a blessing? Do you enjoy taking time for them or are they an interruption? 
  13. Matthew 19:16-26. How did the man who came to Jesus think he could get eternal life? What kind of a man was he?
  14. What did Jesus say was the way to receive eternal life? 
  15. How did the man rate himself with what Jesus told him?
  16. What was the man lacking?
  17. How did the man respond to Jesus' answer and invitation? 
  18. Do you ever feel there is something lacking in your own life? If so, what do you think Jesus may be asking you to do about that? 
  19. Do you have to give away everything you have to receive eternal life?
  20. How hard is it for a rich person to enter into the Kingdom of Heaven? Why?
  21. How then can a person be saved?
  22. Matthew 19:27-30. What was Peter's question to Jesus?
  23. What answer did Jesus give Peter?
  24. Do you sometimes struggle with the way things are going here on earth? Do you ever feel that you are giving up so much and God is not coming through to reward you for your sacrifice and human efforts?

MATTHEW CHAPTER TEWNTY QUESTIONS
  • Matthew 20:1-16. What is the kingdom of heaven like?
  • Who is the landowner and what kind of qualities does He have?
  • What application could the disciples and we make with this parable?
  • Do you feel God owes you something or that you deserve certain things from God? Do you ever compare yourself with others? Have you ever felt God has been unfair with you and not given you what you deserve, or have you been surprised with God's unexpected generosity?
  • Matthew 20:17-19. This is the third time Jesus mentions to His disciples that He as on the way to the cross. What specific details did He give and what emotions did the disciples feel?
  • Matthew 20:20-28. James, John and their mother came knelt before Jesus to ask a favour of Him. What was it?
  • What did Jesus think of that idea?
  • How did the other 10 disciples respond when they found out what James and John had asked for?
  • What lesson did Jesus teach them from that experience?
  • How did Jesus sum up His life? Verse 28 What does that mean?
  • What is your goal in life, for yourself, your husband and for your children? As mothers, are we ever selfish in our motives and goals for our children? No matter what the goal what should be uppermost in our minds? 
  • Matthew 20:29-34. What are some things we can learn about these 2 blind men? 
  • When Jesus gives you what you desire or ask for, what do you do? are you thankful and grateful? Do you follow Jesus even more closely and lovingly or do you just go on with life? 
  • Do you think there is a parallel between physical and spiritual blindness?
