November 25-Start Your Day Right Devotion

Hebrews 11:6
This verse describes the convictions - the deep convincing beliefs - that are a part of saving faith.
  1. We must believe in the existence of a personal, infinite, holy God who cares for us.
  2. We must believe that God will respond to us and reward us when we sincerely look to Him in faith, knowing that our greatest reward is the joy and presence of God Himself. He is our shield and our very great reward (Genesis 15:1;  Deuteronomy 4:29; Matthew 7:7-8;  John 14:21;
  3. We must diligently pursue a deeper relationship with God and passionately desire His presence, power and purpose in our lives. (John 1:12; and  John 5:24)

A prayer to have faith in the unseen God:Lord Jesus, open my eyes, not to see the world more clearly, but to see You. Open my eyes to see you working around me and in me. Nothing happens by accident. You direct every moment and every day of my life. Allow me to see your hand in this world and bless me with Your Love and Hope. Help me to trust in what I cannot see, and believe in Your invisible presence.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

ABEL, ENOCH, NOAH

Hebrews 11:4-7 Abel...Enoch...Noah. These three godly men are selected for special mention from the time of creation until the great flood that devastated the earth (Genesis 6-8). Their lives are examples of various aspects of a life of faith.
  1. By faith, Abel (son of Adam and Eve) was commended as a true worshiper who gave his absolute best and honored God in the way God prescribed (Hebrews 11:4). He did what God said was right (Hebrews 11:4). Because of his bold commitment, he became the first martyr (one killed for faith or for following God, (Hebrews 11:4).
  2. By faith, Enoch "walked with God" (Genesis 5:24) in great intimacy, so much that he was taken from this earth without dying (Hebrews 11:5).
  3. By faith, Noah believed what God said about the future disaster coming on the earth and was willing to risk his reputation on God's warning coming to pass (Hebrews 11:7).

To Have Faith Like Our Forefathers

There are days when discouragement rears its ugly head.
Days when all I want to do is pull up the bed covers again and enter back into peaceful slumber. Days when I’m not sure my brain will last until 2pm, let alone the end of the day. Days when I can hardly keep my eyes open or think straight…let alone pray with any solidarity or fervor.
Today was one of those days. Discouragement reared its ugly head, indeed. As my feet hit the bedroom floor, the immediacy of my need for supernatural strength became overwhelmingly clear. “Oh, Lord,” I prayed silently, “give me strength for the day ahead. I desperately need some encouragement.”
I stumbled to the coffee pot and, after doctoring up a lovely cup of brew, plopped down in my chair, my chosen spot for reading the Word. Venturing through the book of Hebrews was my most recent daily joy, and the Lord knew just what passage to send my way at that very moment.
It would be His faithful answer to my weary prayer for help.
Many of you may recognize the passage as the “Hall of Faith” (Hebrews 11). At that moment, it became a spring of encouragement for my heart and tired body.
If discouragement is building its unwelcome, ugly head in your own heart and mind today; if circumstances are heavy and complicated today; if relationships are proving difficult to navigate; if approaching God’s throne of grace is a battle, my prayer for you is the same one I prayed for myself: Oh, Lord, give my brothers and sisters strength for the day ahead. We desperately need some encouragement!
Start with these truths; pray through them; ask the Holy Spirit to encourage your heart by them; then, move forward with your day, trusting God to help you receive them with faith to live in the light of his precious, strong promises.

  1. Everything you see and know was created and is sustained by the Word of God. This includes your very life and every circumstance that touches you (Hebrews: 1-3).
  2. God created and sustained the faith of every believer in the past. Therefore, He created and will sustain your faith right now, today and all days.
  3. The believers of history were imperfect, weak and needy. But God, in His great mercy, revealed Himself and His strength despite their weaknesses. In the same way, God does not require your strength in order to work - because He knows you don't have any. He delights to light your eyes to the molding clay you are, and then to mold you, by His intentional, compassionate handiwork, always to bring himself glory and you, eternal joy.
  4. It is faith that pleases God (Hebrews 11:6). Not your performance. Not your results. Not your good works. Not a perfect track record. Not what others think of you. Faith. And faith alone.
  5. Fear of the Lord is the only cure to your fear of the world. True faith in God's unshakeable promises will be the only cure for your year of man (Hebrews 11:7). Whatever obstacle you are up against right now, whatever situation or person is causing you anxiety and unrest, remember and recite the words of the Psalmist: (Psalms 118:6). The Lord is your helper, both now and forevermore.
  6. There is nothing too far-fetched or difficult that God's power cannot overcome. Like Sarah, whose barren womb made childbirth seem absolutely impossible, trust and know that the God who created the universe holds every outcome in His hands (Hebrews 11:11-12). If God would mercifully choose to save wretched sinners like you and I, calling us out of darkness and into His marvelous light, he can and will also care for you in the best possible way, extending His love and grace to you through your circumstances - even those that may seem utterly deprived of or lacking of any positive outcome.
  7. You are an exile on the earth (Hebrews 11:13). This world is not your home. It is not your final stop. Even the believers of history felt like strangers. This is a blessing because it means that your identity is not found in establishing yourself within an imperfect world, full with all its empty enticements and false areas of security. Rather, you strangeness to this world is cause for you to rejoice - you are united in Christ!
  8. God made it clear that He had prepared for His chosen people of history a better country, a homeland, a heavenly city (Hebrews 11:13-16). This same glorious future will be yours, believer! and it is the same country, the same city that believers of old hoped in and looked forward to attaining. If you feel far from home right now, imagine just how much closer you are to your eternal inheritance than your brothers and sisters back in the day. Your glorious future is coming!
  • God, by faith, gives you the strength to walk in wisdom and do something. To act.
  • Your faith was founded and will be perfected by Jesus Christ (Hebrews 11:39-40, 12:2).
Come, weary saints, and be strengthened in faith today. May your hearts be revived by the promises of our great God, faithful throughout the ages!

BY FAITH WE UNDERSTAND

Hebrews 11:3
By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God's command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.

"By Faith" occurs at the beginning of the sentence for emphasis and becomes an introductory phrase to over 17 more examples of faith throughout the chapter. The phrase gives greater emphasis with each example. We "understand," or obtain knowledge, in two basic ways:
The natural mind cannot understand things given by God
  1. through the five physical senses (sight, sound, touch, taste, smell) combined with natural reasoning and
  2. knowledge about God and the spiritual realm that happens first at the spirit level - through revelation by God - and is the accepted (understood) "by faith."
The natural mind cannot understand things given by God (1 Corinthians 2:12-14), including creation. Only a spiritually renewed mind can comprehend such things. For this reason, the testimony of God's Word is absolutely vital to faith in the sense that we must take God at His Word in order to understand "that the universe was formed at God's command" (Genesis 1:3; Genesis 1:6-9; Genesis 1:14; Genesis1:20-26; Psalms 33:6, 9; Isaiah 55: 10-11; Colossians 1:16-17)
Prayer For Wisdom And Understanding In All Things
Thank You, Father, for the wonderful way that we have been created in Your likeness and for the amazing way that our bodies and minds function. Lord, we pray that You would enable us a deeper understanding of You, Your will, Your ways and Your person. Teach us what You would have us do in the place where You have planted us. Help us day by day Lord, to fix the eyes of our heart and the gaze of our understanding on You. Use our hands and our feet to lift and carry others, and may we all walk in the paths that You have set before us and not stray from Your will for our life. Lord, we pray that the thoughts of our mind would be continuously upon You, so that we may speak only those things that are pleasing to You and think only those thoughts are honoring to Your name.
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

FAITH IS

11/6/2020

Hebrews 11:1
Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
What is faith? Hebrews 11:1 describes faith as “...confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see.” Faith is completely trusting the unseen God. Faith knows He loves us completely. Faith knows that the death and resurrection of Jesus paid the penalty for our sins. Faith believes the Word of God is all we need to know how to live a holy and pleasing life.
Now Faith is. Chapter 11 of Hebrews gives evidence that true, enduring faith involves trusting God in all circumstances. This trust enables the believer to remain loyal to God and His Word at all times. Faith takes God at His Word and relies completely on His promises. It does not base its hope on visible circumstances, but on confidence in spiritual realities (verse 1). Such a faith enables us to have a right relationship with God (Hebrews 11:4).  It causes us to pursue a deeper relationship with God (Hebrews 11:6) and have full confidence in His Word (Hebrews 11:7,11). Faith obeys His commands (Hebrews 11:8) and guides us so that we come to base our lives on His promises (Hebrews 11:13,39) reject the evil ways of this present world (verse 13) and pursue a heavenly home (Hebrews 11:14-16). It teaches us to endure great challenges and difficulties (Hebrews 11:17-19), inspire faith in future generations (Hebrews 11:21), refuse to indulge in sin's pleasures (Hebrews 11:25), endure persecution (Hebrews 11:27), perform mighty works and miracles in God's power and for His honor (Hebrews 11:33-35) and also suffer for God (Verse 25, 35-38). Faith says we will not return to the useless and ungodly ways of the world (Verse 15-16).
A Prayer To Increase Faith
Father, even the disciples that walked with Jesus needed to strengthen their faith. Jesus told them if their faith was only the size of a mustard seed, they could uproot trees and crumble mountains. Lord, I need more faith like the disciples. Increase my faith and make me a mover of mountains. Grow my belief in You alone so that I would be strong in the Lord and ready to battle against the doubts planted by the enemy. Lord, increase my faith!
In Jesus' Name, Amen.

    Book of Micah Bible Study

    $14.00

Here at Tailspin Farms Life in Grace Bible Study series we are starting the book of MICAH!

The book of MICAH is from the Old Testament.

The book of Micah contains many warnings of doom and prophecies of hope.

In this study on Micah I hope to provide an overview and lessons we can learn from the book of Micah.

The prophet Micah was from the small town of Moresheth Gath in southern Judah, a productive agricultural area about 25 miles southwest of Jerusalem.

Like Amos, he came from the rural countryside, probably from a family of humble status. While the prophet Isaiah was in Jerusalem addressing the king and international affairs,

Micah was a country prophet who was deeply sensitive to the social issues that affected the small towns and villages throughout Judah.

NOTE: THIS IS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE BIBLE STUDY.

Habakkuk is a minor prophet, and this book is unique from the other prophets in that instead of the prophet speaking God's Word to the people, it records Habakkuk's personal dialogue with God.

When I read this book, about a week ago, I felt that I needed to share HABAKKUK with you.

Let's be honest with each other we have all questioned God and perhaps His existence in our life.

There is so much evil and injustice that exists in the world, Does God Care?

Learn how the storms of life can become opportunities to activate your faith in Habakkuk.

The book of Zephaniah contains Destruction and Salvation / The Day of the LORD

In this study on Zephaniah I hope to provide an overview and lessons we can learn from the book of Zephaniah.

Zephaniah, whose name means "the LORD hides," was a great-great-grandson of King Hezekiah of Judah and prophesied during the reign of Josiah (639-609B.C.), Judah's last godly ruler (Zephaniah 1:1). Zephaniah's reference to Jerusalem as "this place" (Zephaniah 1:4), as well as his detailed description of Jerusalem's landscape and its sins, supports the belief by scholars that he lived in this city.

Join the study to learn so much more.

NOTE: THIS IS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE BIBLE STUDY.

THEME / PURPOSE: Rebuilding the Temple: Obedience to God Brings the Strength of His Spirit.

Haggai is the first of three prophetic books in the Old Testament (Haggai, Zachariah and Malachi) written after many of God’s people had returned from exile throughout what was, at that time, the Persian Empire (based on narratives in Ezra and Nehemiah the initial return of exiles to Jerusalem)...

A book containing a message of trust, commitment, and work.

    It involves a practice of:

    • meditation
    • prayer
    • and offerings

that should be done on a day to day basis to fix God in the very center of our life in order to maintain that place of peace and rest.

A place that many of us venture out into the world to find, not realizing the work of the temple begins with us, inside.

The word "Gospel" means "good news", and the good news is about Jesus Christ dying on the cross and then 3 days later conquering death and rising from the dead, offering salvation to all mankind, this is the Gospel.

I hope you that you'll participate in this 15-week series.
