YOUR MINDS … LED ASTRAY

July 2 - Start Your Day Right Devotion

Picture
2 Corinthians 11:3 But I am afraid that just as Eve was deceived by the serpent’s cunning, your minds may somehow be led astray from your sincere and pure devotion to Christ.

Your minds ... Led Astray

Some at Corinth were in great danger of being deceived by false preachers and accepting a distorted message about Jesus (2 Corinthians 11:4). By accepting the teachings of these “deceitful workmen” (2 Corinthians 11:13), they were being distracted from complete devotion to Christ. This troubled Paul greatly because he, as the Corinthians’ spiritual father (2 Corinthians 6:13), had promised them “to one husband” (1 Corinthians 11:2). This refers to Christ, who is often portrayed as the groom, with the church being His bride (Matthew 9:15; John 3:29; Romans 7:4; 1 Corinthians 6:15; Ephesians 5:23-32; Revelation 19:7-9; 21:2), like a “pure virgin” who is undefiled by corrupt beliefs and false teaching (2 Corinthians 11:3-4). In our churches today, there are those who appear to be effective ministers, yet their teachings contradict God’s Word and can lead their followers toward spiritual disaster (Matthew 23:13).

CHRIST’S AMBASSADORS

April 28 - Start Your Day Right Devotion

Picture
2 Corinthians 5:20 We are therefore Christ’s ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us. We implore you on Christ’s behalf. Be reconciled to God.

Christ's Ambassadors

An ambassador (Greek presbeuomen – “Ambassadors”) is an officially authorized representative of one country (and its government) to another. Paul was serving Jesus Christ as an ambassador (Ephesians 6:20) in that he was speaking with Christ’s authority in every effort to restore individuals to a right relationship with God. In this same effort, all Christ’s followers are to serve as His ambassadors, bringing His message, doing His work, and representing His kingdom to those who do not yet have a personal relationship with God. Christ has not left us alone to do His work; He has given us His Spirit to guide and empower us for service (Acts 1:8).

HE IS A NEW CREATION

March 31 - Start Your Day Right Devotion

Picture
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come!

He Is A New Creation

Those who accept God’s forgiveness and by faith yield their lives to Jesus are “born again” (John 3:3-8) and completely renewed from the inside out. Through the creative command of God (2 Corinthians 4:6), they are transformed spiritually. Through a personal relationship with Jesus, a believer becomes a new person (Galatians 6:15; Ephesians 2:10, 15; 4:24; Colossians 3:10), renewed in God’s image (with the ability to relate to Him and take on His character traits, (2 Corinthians 4:16; 1 Corinthians 15:49; Ephesians 4:24; Colossians 3:10). They become Christians. As new creations, Christians share His glory (2 Corinthians 3:18) with a renewed knowledge of God (Colossians 3:10) and a transformed way of thinking and behaving (Romans 12:2 that begins to reflect God’s holiness (moral purity, spiritual wholeness, separation, from evil and dedication to God’s purposes, Ephesians 4:24). As a new creation belonging to God, the Christian takes on a totally new existence in which God’s Spirit rules (Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:25; Ephesians 2:10). All of this restores the believer to the purpose for which God originally created him or her.

IF WE ARE OUT OF OUR MIND

2 Corinthians 5:13 If we are out of our mind, it is for the sake of God; if we are in our right mind, it is for you.
IF WE ARE OUT OF OUR MIND
It is likely that those who opposed Paul’s work and challenged his authority in the church had accused him of exaggerating or even being insane when he testified of such things as his encounter with Christ (Acts 9) or the terrible hardships that he had endured. Even at the possibility of people thinking he was crazy; Paul did not deny or renounce any of his testimony. In fact, he joyfully endured everything as a necessary part of fulfilling the cause of Christ. Yet, there was nothing outrageous about his ministry and message to the Corinthians. He had been completely sober-minded and plain-spoken to them, and he had avoided any hint of sensationalism or exaggeration (1 Corinthians 2:1-5).

RECONCILED US TO HIMSELF

2/1/2022

FEBRUARY 1 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION
Picture
2 Corinthians 5:18-19 All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation: that God was reconciling the world to himself in Christ, not counting men’s sins against them. And he has committed to us the message of reconciliation.
RECONCILED US TO HIMSELF
Reconciliation (Greek katallage) is one part of Christ’s work of redemption (spiritual salvation, restoration, and renewal). To be reconciled to God means to be restored to a right relationship with Him.
  1. The sin and rebellion of the human race have resulted in hostility toward God and separation from Him (Ephesians 2:3; Colossians 1:21). This rebellion brings God’s wrath – His justified anger – and judgment (Romans 1:18, 24-32; 1Corinthians 15:25-26; Ephesians 5:6). Our sin is so completely opposed to God’s perfect character that it required the most extreme penalty: death and eternal separation from God (Romans 5:12; 6:2).
  2. Since we cannot earn or make our way to God through our own imperfect efforts (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5), God Himself chose to lovingly provide the perfect payment for our offenses against Him. He did so by sending His Son, Jesus (John 3:16), to pay our penalty and die in our place, bridging the gap between God and people (1 Peter 3:18). Through Christ’s atoning (sin-coving, forgiveness-providing) death, God has removed the barrier of sin and opened a way for the sinner to return to God (2 Corinthians 5:19; Romans 3:25; 5:10; Ephesians 2:15-16).
  3. Reconciliation becomes effective for each person only through personal repentance (admitting and turning from sin, accepting God’s forgiveness, yielding one’s life to Christ, and surrendering to His purposes, Matthew 3:2). This is a step that must be taken by faith in Jesus Christ (Romans 3:22).
  4. The church (all of Christ’s true followers) has been given the ministry of reconciliation – the opportunity and responsibility to spread Christ’s message and to help others be reconciled and restored to a right relationship with God (2 Corinthians 5:2; Romans 3:25).

GOD OF THIS AGE HAS BLINED THE MINDS OF UNBELIEVERS

1/27/2022

JANUARY 27 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION
Picture
2 Corinthians 4:4 The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.
GOD OF THIS AGE HAS BLINED THE MINDS OF UNBELIEVERS
The “god of this age” refers to Satan (John 12:31; 14:30; 16:11; Ephesians 2:2; 1 John 5:19), who holds power over much of the activity in the world at the present time. His power is, however, temporary, and conditional. He continues only as God allows, which presents people with the real choice of whether to accept and follow Christ or to continue in their own ways and follow evil. But Satan’s influence will end at the close of history when he is thrown into the lake of fire for eternity (Revelation 19:11 – 20:10). Yet, at the present time, Satan continues his evil work, and those who do not submit themselves to Jesus Christ remain under Satan’s influence. He deceives them and blinds them to the truth of God’s Word so that they do not understand their need for Christ. In their darkness, they refuse to accept His spiritual Salvation.
Those of us who know Christ must realize that because people are blinded to the truth, we need to view them through God’s eyes of mercy. Although it may be easier to become discouraged or angered by their rebellious ways, Christians must continue to pray and share Christ’s message with humility and active compassion. The Holy Spirit will enable us to do so (Acts 1:8) in order that all may hear, understand, and choose to believe or disbelieve the truth – to accept or reject Christ (2 Corinthians 4:5-6; Matthew 4:10).

WEAPONS WE FIGHT WITH

1/11/2022

JANUARY 11 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION
Picture
2 Corinthians 10:4 The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.
WEAPONS WE FIGHT WITH
Our warfare – our main source of conflict in life – is not with other people, but against spiritual forces of evil (Ephesians 6:12). For that reason, worldly weapons, such as human invention, talents, wealth, organizational skills, military might, eloquence, propaganda, charisma, and personality, are inadequate to defeat our real enemy and to demolish Satan’s strongholds. Only the weapons that God provides are adequate to resist evil, crush Satan’s resistance, defeat ungodliness and combat false teaching.
  1. These weapons are powerful because they are spiritual and come from God. In other places, Paul lists some of these weapons, which include commitment to truth, godly living, bold witness for Christ, faith, love, hope of eternity with God, the Word of God and persistent prayer (Ephesians 6:11-19; 1 Thessalonians 5:8). By using these weapons against spiritual enemies, the church and individual Christians will come through victorious through the battles and conflicts of life. As a result, God’s presence, power, and purposes will work through His followers to save people spiritually, force demons out of people’s lives, purify and develop Christian character, baptize believers in the Holy Spirit, and heal the sick.
  2. The church today can be tempted to meet the challenges of life with the world’s tools, methods, and weapons. This means that Christians often rely on humanistic wisdom and philosophy. These things often become substitutes for the true spiritual power that comes from deep prayer, uncompromising devotion to God’s Word, God-centered worship, serving others for Jesus and delivering His message without shame. Worldly weapons and strategies cannot bring absolute spiritual victory or cause a spiritual revival. Only the effective spiritual weapons of truth, faith and the power of the Holy Spirit can destroy sin’s power in people’s lives, rescue them from Satan’s schemes or overthrow the uncontrolled evil passions in the world today. Using the world’s weapons makes the church more like the world and robs the church of an effective Christian witness that reveals Jesus and reflects a difference worth considering. The church that fails to use the spiritual weapons available through Christ will be overcome by the spiritual powers of darkness, and its families will be battered and taken captive by worldly forces of evil.

    Book of Micah Bible Study

    $14.00

Here at Tailspin Farms Life in Grace Bible Study series we are starting the book of MICAH!

The book of MICAH is from the Old Testament.

The book of Micah contains many warnings of doom and prophecies of hope.

In this study on Micah I hope to provide an overview and lessons we can learn from the book of Micah.

The prophet Micah was from the small town of Moresheth Gath in southern Judah, a productive agricultural area about 25 miles southwest of Jerusalem.

Like Amos, he came from the rural countryside, probably from a family of humble status. While the prophet Isaiah was in Jerusalem addressing the king and international affairs,

Micah was a country prophet who was deeply sensitive to the social issues that affected the small towns and villages throughout Judah.

I invite you to go through this Bible Study with me.

    Thank you,

    $14.00

Here at Tailspin Farms Life in Grace Bible Study series we are starting the book of HABAKKUK!

NOTE: THIS IS A DIGITAL DOWNLOAD ONLY AND DOES NOT INCLUDE A PHYSICAL COPY OF THE BIBLE STUDY.

Habakkuk is a minor prophet, and this book is unique from the other prophets in that instead of the prophet speaking God's Word to the people, it records Habakkuk's personal dialogue with God.

When I read this book, about a week ago, I felt that I needed to share HABAKKUK with you.

Let's be honest with each other we have all questioned God and perhaps His existence in our life.

There is so much evil and injustice that exists in the world, Does God Care?

Learn how the storms of life can become opportunities to activate your faith in Habakkuk.

I invite you to go through this bible study with me.

Here at Tailspin Farms Life in Grace Bible Study series we are starting the book of ZEPHANIAH!

The book of ZEPHANIAH is from the Old Testament. It only has 3 chapters.

The book of Zephaniah contains Destruction and Salvation / The Day of the LORD

In this study on Zephaniah I hope to provide an overview and lessons we can learn from the book of Zephaniah.

Zephaniah, whose name means "the LORD hides," was a great-great-grandson of King Hezekiah of Judah and prophesied during the reign of Josiah (639-609B.C.), Judah's last godly ruler (Zephaniah 1:1). Zephaniah's reference to Jerusalem as "this place" (Zephaniah 1:4), as well as his detailed description of Jerusalem's landscape and its sins, supports the belief by scholars that he lived in this city.

Join the study to learn so much more.

THEME / PURPOSE: Rebuilding the Temple: Obedience to God Brings the Strength of His Spirit.

Haggai is the first of three prophetic books in the Old Testament (Haggai, Zachariah and Malachi) written after many of God’s people had returned from exile throughout what was, at that time, the Persian Empire (based on narratives in Ezra and Nehemiah the initial return of exiles to Jerusalem)...

A book containing a message of trust, commitment, and work.

    It involves a practice of:

    • meditation
    • prayer
    • and offerings

that should be done on a day to day basis to fix God in the very center of our life in order to maintain that place of peace and rest.

A place that many of us venture out into the world to find, not realizing the work of the temple begins with us, inside.

    The Gospel of Matthew

he Word Gospel. The first book of the English Bible that most of us read from is the Gospel of Matthew. Matthew is the first of the four gospel writings, yet there is only one gospel about Jesus Christ and there are four different writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John. The word "Gospel" means "good news", and the good news is about Jesus Christ dying on the cross and then 3 days later conquering death and rising from the dead, offering salvation to all mankind, this is the Gospel.

I hope you that you'll participate in this 15-week series.

Matthew has 28 chapters. For the in-depth study the 154-page eBook will help with your study.
