September 19-Start Your Day Right Devotion (KJ) Isaiah 53.12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many and made intercession for the transgressors. A PORTION AMONG THE GREAT God promised to reward Christ for His sacrificial death, and Christ in turn promises to share His reward with all those who are “strong” in faith. This refers to those who trust and follow Him in doing spiritual battle against sin and Satan through the power of God’s Holy Spirit. POURED OUT HIS LIFE UNTO DEATHBecause of Jesus' death on the cross, God has reserved and released a great inheritance for His followers. God's servants have the privilege and responsibility to share the message of the "good news" about forgiveness and new life through Christ Jesus to all people. But any preaching of the gospel that does not focus primarily on how Jesus' sacrificial death on the cross frees us from the power of sin is doomed to failure. A message that does not emphasize the importance of the cross will be ineffective and will not have the power to transform lives, because it lacks the blessing and presence of Christ and His Spirit.
