But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his unlimited patience as an example for those who would believe on him and receive eternal life. CHRIST JESUS CAME … TO SAVE SINNERS This is the whole reason Jesus came to earth. He ultimately gave His perfect life to pay the complete penalty for our sin (our personal offenses against God), providing forgiveness and restored relationship with God to all who would accept His sacrifice for themselves and entrust their lives to Him (Matthew 9:12; Mark 2:17).
