DO YOU BELIEVE IN DIVINE HEALING?

​Matthew 4:12-25
And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of sickness and all manner of disease among the people” (Matthew 4:23).

​I was recently visiting with a good friend and was talking about miracles of healing. This brought us both to the question that we have been asked many times.
Do you believe in divine healing? The only answer to this question is there any other kind. Can a person heal? No. Only God can heal.

​God is still in the business of miracles. I believe that the greatest miracle of all is that of converting a blind sinner to see their sin and to change the human heart; from on of serving the god of this world to seeing their own sin and the need of a Savior in Jesus Christ. The miracle of human conversion is actually greater than any healing miracle because this brings eternal life in Christ. A healing miracle is only temporary. The person healed will eventually die but the one that is born-again has eternity, never to die again (John 3:16).

​I believe that God calls people into different vocations so that their strengths can be used to care for others and bring glory to Him. God calls people to be doctors, surgeon, physician, pharmacist and uses the God given talent to help people with their illnesses.

​Christians should not rely solely upon prayer to treat diseases that are reliably treated through modern medicine. This does not mean that we do not pray for the sick. When Christians refuse to use modern medicine for sicknesses of our family, it says to the world that we are stupid and uncaring. However, since God called certain individuals to serve through medicine, aren’t those people really an answer to our prayers? So, when your family gets sick, use your faith to seek medical professionals whom God has provided for their healing. And, yes, pray for them and for the doctors that God would provide them wisdom and discernment in your family members treatment.
