HALLOWED BE YOUR NAME

The greatest concern in our prayers and in our lives should be to bring honor to God. His name must be “hallowed,” or considered sacred and holy, which means we must live in a way that is worthy of our relationship with Him. This requires us to live a life of holiness – moral purity, spiritual wholeness, separation from evil and devotion to God’s purposes. In this way, we will bring glory, honor, and praise to God (Psalms 34:3). In our prayers and daily lives, we must be passionately concerned with the reputation of God, His church, His message, and His kingdom purposes. To do the Lord’s name and character is a serious sin that openly shames God.
