JUNE 2 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION  Psalms 119:47-48 For I delight in your commands because I love them. I lift up my hands to your commands, which I love, and I meditate on your decrees. I DELIGHT IN, I LOVE, YOUR COMMANDS A major emphasis of Psalms 119 is a sincere delight in and a heartfelt love for the Word of God. 1. Joy comes to our heart as we read and obey God’s Word. When we read the Bible with a sincere desire to understand and obey Christ’s commands (Verse 20, 24, 40, 60), the Holy Spirit reveals God’s love to us in a deeper way (John 14:15-17, 21, 23; Romans 5:5). Also, He helps us comprehend the truth of God’s Word and brings us greater joy in life (John 15:10-11). 2. Those who find pleasure and joy in spending time in God’s Word will develop an even deeper love for God and a more intense desire to follow His plans for their lives. A person who truly loves their God (Verse 132) will also love the Word that reveals God’s character and purposes. Knowing and following God’s Word will unite us with Him (Romans 6:5) and develop in our hearts a deep love and devotion for His revealed truth. BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE:
