Instead, he concentrated on the central truth of the gospel – the “good news” of forgiveness, new life and an eternal relationship with God through faith in Jesus Christ. He was well aware of his human and individual limitations. For this reason, relied not on himself, but on the message of Christ and on the power of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 2:4).
