Jesus as “Lord” means more than “Master.” He is the exalted Lord – Ruler and Leader with authority overall. He is the One we must depend on for spiritual salvation. He is the full revelation of God to humankind (Philippians 2:9). “Christ” is the New Testament name for the Old Testament Messiah, both of which mean “Anointed One” and Savior.
