And the power of the Lord was present for him to heal the sick. THE POWER OF THE LORD WAS PRESENT The word translated “power” (Greek dunamis) means “might, power or strength.” In the New Testament, it is most often used of God’s power. The plural, dunameies, is used to describe Jesus’ miracles. The gospel (“good news” and message) of Christ is God’s power for salvation (Romans 1:16). The Holy Spirit gives powerful gifts and ministries in and through Christ’s followers.
