​WORSHIP THE FIRST BEAST

​The second beast will attempt to clear the way for the operation of a false church that is ecumenical (promoting common faith among various religions and a blending of different beliefs and practices). Its focus will be the worship of the antichrist. This second beast will bring this about largely by performing great signs and wonders (apparent miracles, Revelation 13:13-14). His ministry will in some ways imitate the supernatural ministry of the Holy Spirit (2 Thessalonians 2:9-10). But God told His people long ago (Deuteronomy 13:1-3) that even though a prophet performs miracles and signs, he is a false prophet if he turns people away from worshiping the one true God.
