TIME TO FEED THE BEE'S

A NEW DAY WITH TAILSPIN FARMS BEE'S
We tried to start early this morning to beat the heat. But, by the time we were able to make it out to the bee's it was around 9 or so.
Stace makes up the sugar water for the bees usually the day before we plan on feeding the bees. We use 25 pounds to 50 pounds of sugar a week. The bee feeders will hold about 2 1/2 gallons per hive. Stace puts the sugar water in empty 1 gallon water bottles. It makes it easier for me to put the water in the feeders.
And of course, we have to build a fire in the smoker. I can never get the fire going in that silly smoker. (I know what you're thinking miss fire bug can't get a fire started...) Stace takes over building the fire for me. When Stace isn't here is don't use the smoker. Hahaha
While Stace is getting the fire going in the smoker I start getting my bee suit on. I have to say putting this bee suit on in 100 plus degrees heat is no fun. Because my husband takes care of me, he ordered me a portable neck fan to wear while I'm working the bees. Today will be the first time I use it.
