March 7-Start Your Day Right Devotion Philippians 2:15 So that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a crooked and depraved generation, in which you shine like stars in the universe. CROOKED AND DEPRAVED GENERATION Jesus, and those He worked through by the Holy spirit to deliver His written Word, emphasized that the world we live in is an “unbelieving and perverse generation” (Matthew 17:17; 12:39; Acts 2:40). Apart from God, the people of the world are living in spiritual deception and darkness, which causes them to have a twisted and misrepresented view of life, values and religion. As a result, they follow their own immoral ways of life, rejecting the truth of God’s Word. In contrast, followers of Christ have a different worldview and values, which stand out from the ungodly beliefs, behaviors and lifestyles that are common in the rest of society (1 John 2:15). Out of loyalty to Jesus, His followers strive to be blameless, pure and without fault so they can effectively show and communicate Christ’s message of hope and life to those who do not know Him. In a spiritually dark world, Christ’s followers must “shine like stars in the universe,” reflecting God’s light and showing others the way to Him (Matthew 5:14-16). BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE
