JULY 24 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION 2 Corinthians 4:18 So, we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen. For what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal. ETERNAL The Greek word aionios means” without beginning or end.” It usually means eternal in the sense of endless time. While the things we see and experience in this life may at times be hard to understand, they are only temporary and will come to an end. So, we strengthen our hearts by thinking on eternal things so that we will not become discouraged (Verse 1, 16). The spiritual rewards and realties that we do not see are every bit as real as what we do see (Hebrews 11:1, 6, 26-27); in fact, the things we do not see are the things that will last forever. As believers, these are the things we must focus on in life (Philippians 3:20; Hebrews 12:2). BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE:

JULY 23 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION 2 Corinthians 4:17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that for outweighs them all. MOMENTARY TROUBLE / ETERNAL GLORY The troubles and difficulties endured by those who remain faithful to Christ are light and seem as nothing compared to the glory and honor they will finally gain through Christ. This glory is already revealed in part but will be fully experienced in the future (Romans 8:18). For this reason, we must not lose hope or give up our faith as we face all kinds of problems. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. OUTWARDLY - INWARDLY “Outwardly” refers to the physical body, which is deteriorating and moving toward death because of human mortality and the troubles of life (Verse 17). “Inwardly” refers to a Christian’s human spirit that has been transformed by the spiritual life of Christ. Although our bodies age and decay, we can experience ongoing spiritual renewal through the Holy Spirit, who constantly gives Christ’s life and power to believers. Christ’s leadership and influence enables our minds, emotions, desires, and behaviors to conform to His character and eternal purpose. BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE:

He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?” I AM THE RESURRECTION For people who have entrusted their lives to Jesus, physical death is not a tragic end. It is instead a gateway to eternal life with God. The words “will live” in Verse 25 refer to the resurrection that awaits Christ’s followers. The works “will never die” in Verse 26 means that although a follower of Christ dies physically, he or she will never experience spiritual death (the “second death,” Revelation 2:11), which involves eternal punishment and separation from God. Instead, Christ’s followers will be resurrected with new bodies, which will be immortal and incorruptible (1 Corinthians 15:42, 54), ones that cannot die or deteriorate (Romans 8:10; 2 Corinthians 4:16). Blessings, Margarita & Stace JULY 19 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION Isaiah 53:4 Surely, he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. TOOK UP OUR INFIMITIES An infirmity usually refers to a physical weakness or illness. This verse is quoted in Matthew 8:17 – both physically and spiritually. Jesus took our place and our punishment when He suffered and died to pay the full penalty for the sins of humankind. His suffering and sacrifice were so perfect and complete that they provide for deliverance and relief from our sicknesses and diseases as well as from our sins. For this reason, His followers should pray for physical healing. BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE:

Also I would like to hear from you. Please feel free to leave a short note or a comment. Blessings, Margarita & Stace JULY 18 - START YOUR DAY RIGHT DEVOTION Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are – yet was without sin. TEMPTED IN EVERY WAY - YET WAS WITHOUT SIN This verse gives us a parallel between Jesus’ temptations and ours. It does not mean that He experienced every exact temptation we have, but that He endured every kind of temptation that a human can experience. This fact assures us that Jesus can personally relate to and empathize (share all the feelings, frustrations, concerns, and emotions) we experience throughout our lives (Hebrews 2:18). The way in which Christ’s temptations were completely different from ours is in the results – He never gave in to sin (Matthew 4:1-11). While this might leave some people with the impression that Jesus cannot relate to our failures and sin, keep in mind that while He did not sin, He took the weight and punishment of all sin upon Himself when He gave His life for us (Isaiah 53:4-5; 2 Corinthians 5:21). That means He endured more than all of us together. The fact that He never gave in to sin actually teaches that He endured temptation to an even higher degree, never giving up but pressing all the way through to complete victory every time. Where we often fail and fall, Jesus always resisted and prevailed. In these ways – through His life and His death – Jesus can relate to any level of temptation and pain that we can possibly experience. But even more, He has the power to help us overcome if only we will rely on Him in all situations. BIBLE STUDY TOOLS I USE:
