YOU MAY BE MATURE

The word "mature" (Greek teleios) reflects the Biblical idea of the growth or development of the person's faith to the point of spiritual maturity. But to grow spiritually suggests that there is a right relationship with God that results in one's wholehearted effort to love Him completely (Mark 12:30). That effort works out in the way we show our constant love, devotion, obedience and Christlike character in all circumstances (Deuteronomy 6:5; Deuteronomy 18:13; Matthew 22:37; 1 Thessalonians 2:10).

Prayer is simply talking with God. It is the way you share your heart with Him, and also how you prepare your heart to listen to Him.
Like with any other relationship, when you begin a relationship with God, you spend time with Him to get to know Him more. Prayer is simply a way for you to build into that relationship with Him. The more frequently you talk with God, the more you'll get to know Him. Incorporating prayer into your life every day will have profound effects on your walk with God. 
Daily prayer creates pathways for God to intercede in your life and use you to minister to others.
It may seem that having a simple conversation with God is a small thing, especially when you don't get the results you expect. But the effects of your prayers are extraordinary. 
Your prayers do not need to be long or eloquent. They just need to come from your heart. You can be as creative as you want when you pray. God's excited to talk with you! 

Thank you, Lord, for protecting us. Please be with us, heal, protect, save & bless us and all our loved ones throughout this month of June. Please bring peace and prosperity in every family and nation.

Today is the day to thank all those who brightened our lives with happiness and freedom. Let us bow our heads and remember the sacrifices of the soldiers. ​

A MEMEORAL DAY PRAYER 2023

As our nation pauses today to remember those in the military who have given their lives for freedoms we enjoy, we pray you would have us all look to you for strength, comfort and guidance.
Be with all who serve in our Armed Forces. Bless them and their families.
Grant your loving protection. Let peace prevail among all the nations, O God. Especially let your mercy rest upon our land, even as we acknowledge with thanksgiving your past goodness on this country.
If it is your will, preserve the lives of the men and women in uniform as they defend our citizenry.
Most of all, we pray that you would turn the hearts of all - military and civilian - to your holy Word where we find the true peace for our sinful souls that surpasses all understanding. Keep us repentant of sin. Move us to know, take hold and treasure your saving grace.
In this peace and hope for eternity, we pray. Amen.

May 29 - Start Your Day Right Devotion

Revelation 16:16 Then they gathered the kings together to the place that in Hebrew is called Armageddon.

ARMAGEDDON

Armageddon (Greek harmagedon), located in north central Palestine, means "the mountain of Megiddo." It will be the center of "the battle on the great day of God Almighty" (Revelation 16:14). This war will occur toward the end of the tribulation and conclude abruptly when Christ returns to destroy the wicked (Revelation 14:19), to rescue His people and to establish His Messianic kingdom - His reign of a thousand years on earth to close out time as we know it (Revelation 20). Note the following concerning this event. 
  1. The prophets of the Old Testament foretold of the event (Deuteronomy 32:43; Jeremiah 25:31; Joel 3:2, 9-17; Zephaniah 3:8; Zechariah 14:2-5).
  2. Satan and demons will influence many nations to gather under the direction of the antichrist in order to make war against God, his armies and his people, and to destroy Jerusalem (Revelation 16:13; Revelation 16:14; Revelation 16:16; Revelation 17:14; Revelation 19:14, 19; Ezekiel 38-39, which may actually describe an earlier battle, probably just before or at the beginning of the tribulation). Although the focal point will be in the land of Israel, the event of Armageddon will involve the entire world (Jeremiah 25:29-38). 
  3. Christ will return and supernaturally intervene to destroy the antichrist and his armies (Revelation 19:19; Revelation 19:20; Revelation 20:21; Zechariah 14:1-5) and all who disobeyed His Word and refused to accept His message (Psalms 110:5; Isaiah 66:15-16; 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10). God will also send destruction and earthquakes on the whole world at this time Revelation 16:18-19; Jeremiah 25:29-33).

May 28 - Start Your Day Right Devotion

Revelation 19:21 The rest of them were killed with the sword that came out of the mouth of the rider on the horse, and all the birds gorged themselves on their flesh.

THE REST OF THEM WERE KILLED

There are two primary views regarding who "the rest of them" are:
  1. Some believe that this refers to all people throughout the entire earth who rejected Christ and failed to entrust their lives to Him (Jeremiah 25:29-33; Revelation 14:19). This would mean that no spiritually unsaved or unrighteous person (not right with God and not doing what is right by His standard) would enter God's thousand-year kingdom (Revelation 20:4). During the tribulation, the message of forgiveness and eternal life with Christ will be adequately presented - even with the aid of angels (Revelation 14:6) - to everyone living on earth. Those who reject the truth will come under "a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned who have not believed the truth" (2 Thessalonians 2:11-12). Those who are not in right standing with God "will not inherit the kingdom of God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11; Galatians 5:19-21). After Christ returns, the ungodly will be separated from those who were right with God and will be condemned to eternal punishment (Matthew 25:31-46). 
  2. Others hold the view that the destruction at Armageddon will primarily involve the armies of the antichrist and that the judgment of all unbelievers worldwide does not take place at that particular time. In this case, many unbelievers who remain alive following the plagues and judgments of the tribulation would enter the millennium (thousand years) when Christ reigns on earth (Revelation 20; 19:19). These would be under the rule of God's people during the millennium. This view sees the descendants of these unbeliever as the primary rebels who join Satan in his final battle against Christ at the end of the millennium (Revelation 20:7; Revelation 20:8; Revelation 20:9).

FRUIT IN KEEPING WITH REPENTANCE

John was addressing the hypocritical religious and social leaders in the crowd when he called them a "brood of vipers" (Matthew 3:8; Matthew 3:7). John challenged people to prove their devotion to God through practical acts of kindness, consideration and self-sacrifice (Luke 3:11), which are motivated by a change of attitude (Luke 3:11-15). These good works could not save people, but they were a response to God's salvation and an evidence that they were truly following God.

FRUIT IN KEEPING WITH REPENTANCE

In spiritual terms, to "produce fruit" means to show outward evidence (what can be seen) of true inward faith (what God is doing inside) through visible growth in character, compassion and godly behavior. Genuine repentance will always lead to an active faith and godly behavior (Matthew 3:2; Matthew 23:23; Luke 3:10-14; Acts 26:20; John 15:16). Those who say they believe in Christ and are God's children, and yet do not live in a way that produces and shows good fruit, are like trees that, in the end, will be cut down and thrown into the fire (Matthew 3:8; Matthew 3:10- 12).
