11The early Christians lived with great expectation of Christ's immediate return (Matthew 24:42; John 14:3). they lived in constant anticipation of this great hope. Notice that the Christian's hope is for the personal return of the Lord Jesus Christ, not for the general events that will occur during the last days (1 Thessalonians 1:9-10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13; 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 9:28.
